Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, password credentials or sign-in identifiers, account settings, profile information, household and caregiver relationships, emergency or care contacts, health goals, allergies, medications, supplements, symptoms, meals, hydration, activity, sleep, body metrics, reminders, appointment and follow-up information, family messages, notes, uploaded images, uploaded documents, and any other content you add while using the app.

We may also collect information from connected services you choose to link, such as wearable, fitness, health, laboratory, supplement, pharmacy, or provider systems. Depending on the connection, this may include activity, sleep, heart rate, body measurements, nutrition, medication, lab result, supplement order, or appointment data. We also collect technical and usage data such as device identifiers, operating system, app version, app events, crash data, IP address, approximate network location, notification tokens, and diagnostic information needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.

How We Collect Information

We collect information when you create an account, sign in, complete your profile, connect family or caregiver relationships, enter health data, upload files, send messages, use AI Companion, and use device permissions such as microphone, notifications, camera, photo library, health or fitness data, and location where enabled for a feature. We also collect information automatically through app and website usage logs, analytics, crash reporting, and service security monitoring. We collect connected-service data only after you authorize the connection or otherwise direct the service to share data with Athelon.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide the Athelon service, personalize your care experience, save and display your health records, support family and caregiver workflows, deliver reminders and messages, respond to support requests, maintain account security, improve product quality, comply with legal obligations, and investigate fraud or abuse. We also use information to generate summaries, charts, recommendations, reminders, and care coordination context that you request through app features.

AI Companion And Third-Party AI Processing

Athelon includes AI Companion and related AI-assisted features. If you choose to use those features and provide the required in-app permission, Athelon sends the information needed to answer your request to OpenAI, our third-party AI service provider. We identify OpenAI in the app consent flow before sending personal data for AI processing.

The data sent to OpenAI depends on what you ask AI Companion to do. It may include your prompt, conversation text, screen context, profile details, health goals, allergies, medications, supplements, symptoms, meal and hydration logs, activity and sleep logs, body metrics, laboratory results, uploaded records or images, reminders, appointments, family or caregiver context, family messages when relevant to your request, and microphone audio or transcripts when you use live voice features. We send only the information reasonably needed to provide the AI feature you requested.

We use AI processing to generate responses, summaries, charts, explanations, care coordination context, follow-up guidance, reminder actions, and other app actions you request. We do not send your personal data to OpenAI for AI Companion processing until you agree in the app, and you can choose not to use AI Companion. Athelon does not sell your personal data, and we do not authorize OpenAI to use your personal data to market to you.

We require OpenAI and other service providers that process personal data for Athelon to protect that data with the same or equal level of privacy and security protection required by Athelon, including appropriate confidentiality, access, retention, and security safeguards for the services they perform for us.

When We Share Information

We share information with service providers that help us operate the app, including cloud hosting, analytics, authentication, database and storage, customer support, payment processing where applicable, notifications, communications, security monitoring, and OpenAI for AI Companion processing after user consent. We may also share information with third-party services you choose to connect or use through Athelon, such as wearable, health, laboratory, supplement, pharmacy, payment, or provider systems, when needed to provide the requested integration. We may also share information when required by law, to protect users or the public, to enforce our agreements, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

Permissions

The app requests access only when a feature needs it. For example, microphone access is used for live voice, camera and photo access are used for uploads, and notification access is used for reminders and alerts. You can decline permissions, although some features may not function fully without them.

Data Retention And Deletion

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. The app includes an account deletion flow that lets you initiate permanent deletion of your account. When account deletion is completed, we remove or de-identify data according to our retention and legal obligations.

Your Choices

You can review and update parts of your account information in the app, choose whether to use AI Companion, decide whether to grant optional permissions, disconnect supported integrations, and contact us regarding privacy rights or account deletion requests. You can also decline AI Companion permission; if you decline, the AI Companion features that require third-party AI processing will not send your personal data to OpenAI.
